SimDay — Legal & Privacy

The short version

SimDay 4.x has no account and no sign-in. Your scores, streak and progress are stored on your device and nowhere else. The app makes exactly one network request, it is optional, and it does not happen unless you turn it on.

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what SimDay collects and what it does with it. It covers SimDay 4.x on Android and iOS. If you are on an older version, read Older versions as well — the answers are different.

There is no account

SimDay 4.x has no sign-up, no sign-in and no user profile. We do not know who you are, we do not have your email address, and there is nothing on our servers tied to you.

What is stored, and where

All of it stays in the app's own storage on your device. None of it is uploaded, backed up to us, or readable by us:

• Your scores, best runs, XP, crowns, streak and daily goal.
• Which acts you have played, and any act you are part-way through.
• Your answers to the three case-finder questions.
• Your settings: theme, daily-goal target, and whether you have turned the AI card on.

Uninstalling the app removes all of it. So does Settings → Reset all progress.

What is not collected at all

No analytics. No crash reporting. No advertising identifiers. No tracking of any kind, across apps or otherwise. No location, contacts, camera, microphone or photos — the app does not ask for those permissions and cannot use them. Nothing you type is ever transmitted: the only two places you can type in SimDay are the case search box and the word RESET, and neither leaves the device.

The AI card

This is the one and only thing SimDay sends anywhere.

It is off until you turn it on

At the end of an act where you made judgement calls, SimDay can show a short personal read on how you played it, written by a language model. The first time it could appear, the app instead explains what would be sent and asks. Nothing is transmitted before you tap Allow. If you never do, the app never makes a network request.

You can change your mind at any time in Settings → Your read (AI card). Switching it off stops the request immediately and permanently, until you switch it back on.

What is sent, exactly

Sent:

• The options you chose in that act.
• The act's own briefing lines, and the case and act titles.
• The subject area and the role you played.
• The names of the seven competencies, and the scores you earned in that act.

Not sent:

• Anything you typed.
• Your name, or any account or identifier.
• Your play history, streak, XP or crowns.
• The case's own source material, its “what actually happened”, its lessons or its citations.

Who receives it

The request goes to a server function we operate, which passes it to Anthropic to generate the text, and returns the result to your device. Our server does not store it. Anthropic processes it under their own terms as our processor. Nobody else receives it, and it is not sold, shared for advertising, or used to build a profile of you.

If something the model writes is wrong or offensive

The card is generated text and can be wrong. Every card carries a Report this card link that opens an email to us with the case and act it came from. You can also write to simday.app@gmail.com at any time.

Deleting your data

SimDay 4.x

There is no account to delete, because there is no account. To erase everything the app holds:

• In the app: Settings → Reset all progress → type RESET. This clears every score, act, crown, streak and setting. It cannot be undone.
• Or just uninstall. Removing the app removes its storage.

Because none of it ever reached us, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf, and nothing for us to hand over.

If you used SimDay 2.x and had an account

Earlier versions did offer an account with cloud sync, and if you created one, that record still exists on our server until it is deleted. Updating to 4.x does not delete it, and 4.x has no screen that can reach it. To remove it:

• Email simday.app@gmail.com from the address you signed up with and ask for deletion. We will delete the account and all synced results within 30 days and confirm when it is done.
• If you still have SimDay 2.x installed on another device, its Settings → Privacy & data → Delete account still works.

What is deleted: the account, its email address, synced day results and transcripts, and onboarding answers. What may be retained: minimal, non-identifying records where the law requires it.

Older versions

SimDay changed substantially at version 4.0. If your app still shows a sign-in screen or an account section, you are on 2.x, and these things are true of it and not of 4.x: it had an account and Google sign-in, it synced your results to our server, it used product analytics, and it sent much more of your activity to the AI provider, without a separate opt-in. The deletion route above is the way to remove anything it stored.

Terms of Service

SimDay is an educational app operated by SimDay (“we”, “us”). These terms govern your use of it. By using SimDay you agree to them.

What SimDay is

SimDay lets you make the decisions in a real professional situation and then shows you what the people involved actually did. It is for learning and practice. It is not professional, legal, financial, medical or career advice, it is not a qualification, and it is not an assessment by any employer. The cases describe real events, including serious ones; the app's framing of them is our own.

Age

SimDay is not directed to children under 13, and you must be old enough to use it under the laws of your country.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the app or the service behind it.

Availability and changes

We may add, change or remove features, and we may update these terms. If we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page.

No warranty, and limits

SimDay is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent allowed by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States.
